YOUR STORIES, TREATED WITH CARE
Privacy & your information.
Last updated November 2, 2026. This notice describes the current preview and the order features when they are enabled. We only ask for information needed to create, save and deliver your edition.
What you choose to share
We receive the names, dates, memories, event details and photographs you enter. Please share only material you want in the finished keepsake, and obtain permission to include other people’s photographs and personal details. You can leave optional questions blank. Medical details and private information about children are not needed.
Orders waitlist
If you join the waitlist, we store your email address, the occasion and the page you joined from. We use them only to tell you when orders open. To be removed, send us an enquiry.
Saving your progress
Device drafts use storage in your browser. They do not follow you to another device and remain after you sign out. Choosing “Save to my account” stores your answers, photographs and design choices privately on our hosted service. Your A Day in Print account uses your email address, name and password. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, never as readable text. Secure essential session cookies keep you signed in.
Writing, payments and email
When you ask us to create an edition, your text answers are sent to OpenAI for writing and factual checks. Photographs are not sent to the writing service. We request that generated responses are not stored as API response objects; service providers may retain security or operational records under their own terms. Our hosted site uses OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare storage.
When paid orders are enabled, Stripe handles payment details and provides the payment status and order reference. Card numbers are not stored by this website. Resend is used for transactional order confirmations and studio enquiry notifications when email delivery is connected. These providers may process information in countries other than yours under their applicable data-protection arrangements.
Why we use it
We use your information to provide the edition and account you request, answer support enquiries, protect the service against abuse and, for purchases, maintain transaction records. Where relevant, these purposes rely on providing a requested service or contract, legitimate interests in security and support, and legal recordkeeping obligations. We do not use uploaded stories or photographs for public marketing without separate permission.
How long it stays
Account drafts stay until you delete them from My editions. Deletion removes that draft’s saved photographs. Browser drafts and downloaded backups remain on your own devices until you remove them. Writing retries are cached for up to 24 hours; expired cache entries are removed as the service is used. Purchased PDFs are available online for 90 days and may be removed after that period. Save your own copies. Order confirmations and transaction records may need to be retained for accounting, disputes and applicable legal obligations. Contact messages remain in the private studio inbox until resolved and removed.
Your choices
You can edit your draft, download an editable backup, delete saved editions, or contact us about access, correction, deletion or other applicable privacy rights. A request may require us to verify your identity. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. We do not sell your information or use this site for advertising tracking. Essential account cookies and browser storage support sign-in, saved work and security.
